Thus, the Boy Runs Through the Labyrinth Volume 1 Extra

EX – A Nameless Group’s Prayer

In the western district of the Sin City, Greed, the tavern known as “The Hideout of the Greedy” was usually bustling with adventurers who drank, feasted, and enjoyed themselves. But today, it was unusually quiet.

“Aww, they really left, didn’t they?”

The normally noisy and lively tavern had a subdued atmosphere. The rowdy adventurers who usually reveled in their drinks seemed unusually somber. The reason was clear:

“They’re really something, huh? Wandering adventurers in this day and age.”

“Ugh, Shizuku-chan…”

“Even if you stayed, you had no chance with her.”

“Ugh…”

“I’m more worried about Ur. That guy was always kinda slow.”

“He was always getting beaten up by that demon instructor at the training grounds…”

The cause of their melancholy was the departure of two rookie adventurers who had frequently visited the tavern for the past few weeks. Despite their short time there, the two had quickly become a part of the place, making their departure all the more poignant.

Today, the remaining patrons were sipping cheap drinks and reminiscing about their time with the two. Though their stay had been less than a month, the stories about them seemed endless.

“They really lasted until the end at the training grounds, didn’t they? Is that a new record?”

“How did they survive that demon instructor’s training? Are they monsters?”

“On top of that, they took down the Jewel Golem in a month. That’s extraordinary.”

“A rising star, huh…”

“Something on your mind?”

“Shizuku-chan might be a star, but does Ur really fit that image?”

“Nope, not at all.”

Though their conversations about the departed duo might have seemed sentimental and made the atmosphere a bit gloomy, no one complained.

“It was such a hectic month, wasn’t it?”

“Really was… Those two. Do you think we’ll see them again?”

“Hard to say. Once they’re out of the city, anything could happen. They might die today for all we know.”

“That’s true.”

Being an adventurer is a dangerous and rough profession. It’s not uncommon to retire due to injuries. Death is a frequent outcome. That’s why adventurers live each day to the fullest, cherish their farewells, and hold onto their memories.

Adventurers never take goodbyes lightly.

The tavern owner didn’t interrupt their reminiscing. Instead, he brought over mugs of ale to their table.

“Boss…”

“It’s on the house.”

The bearded owner grinned, and the adventurers, shaking off the gloom, stood up with smiles.

The two young adventurers had set out on their journey to achieve their goals.

No matter how dangerous, unstable, or outdated their methods seemed, they had chosen their path and were following it.

No one could stop them. No one had the right to interfere. If you couldn’t walk the same path, there was nothing left to do but pray. After all, they were already bronze-rank adventurers.

All that was left was to pray for them, and to do so wholeheartedly. So they did.

“May calamity and fortune be with our comrades on their journey!”

“May hardship and victory accompany our friends on their path!”

With a resounding cheer that broke the previous silence, they offered their prayers to their friends.

Of course, their prayers wouldn’t reach the two adventurers.

But the sincere, selfless prayers and wishes were undoubtedly there.
